O'Sullivan loses out in Ireland run
Sonia O’Sullivan was narrowly beaten in a tight finish to the BUPA Ireland Run in Dublin by America’s Amy Rudolph.
Rudolph pulled away from the Irish star in the final 100metres of the 10 k race, setting a course record of 32minutes 16seconds.
O’Sullivan finished two seconds behind with Irish cross-country champion Jolene Byrne third in 32mins 21secs.
“Not many runners preparing for a marathon can run as fast as that,” said O’Sullivan, competes in the Flora London Marathon next Sunday.
