Basketball's SuperLeague reaches key stage

There are two crunch games in bastketball's SuperLeague this weekend as Limerick take on Neptune on Saturday in the Southern Conference and Merry Monk Ballina face UCD in the North.

The first big game of the weekend is in the South where Limerick confront Neptune at home. This will no doubt be one of interest as both teams are locked on the same points in the league table, chasing that elusive third play-off place, although Neptune have a game in hand.

The game at UL will go a long way in deciding which of the teams go forward.

Elsewhere, a full house is expected in Ballina Sports and Leisure Centre on Saturday for the first of the home sides four final games in the NIVEA for Men SuperLeague, all of which they play at home.

At present, it is a straight fight between Ballina and UCD for the third qualifying place in the Northern Conference.
