Haile Gebrselassie is backing London’s bid to stage the 2012 Olympic Games despite claims in Spain he had put his support behind rival city Madrid.

Spanish organisers claim Gebrselassie told a sports newspaper he would vote for Madrid to stage the 2012 Olympic Games.
