Williams announces new sponsorship deal

Formula One team Williams today unveiled a lucrative new sponsorship deal with the Royal Bank of Scotland group.

Team owner Frank Williams took centre stage at a central London press conference to announce the new deal, arranged with the help of three-time world champion Jackie Stewart.

The arrangement will see RBS logos appear on the Williams cars throughout next season, which begins in March in Australia.

Number one driver Mark Webber will show off the first RBS-backed Williams in Bahrain tomorrow at the team’s first official launch.

A second launch is scheduled for Valencia later this month when the team will reveal whether Nick Heidfeld or Antonio Pizzonia will partner Webber.
