Minardi to name new driver tomorrow
Minardi are expected to name one of their 2005 race drivers tomorrow at a hastily arranged press conference in Holland.
The Italian team announced the press conference less than 24 hours before it is due to be held at an Amsterdam hotel.
They are expected to reveal at least one of their 2005 drivers, with Dutchman Christijan Albers the obvious choice given the location and recent speculation.
Albers enjoyed a successful campaign in the DTM last season and earned Formula One tests with Jordan and Minardi, who have been sponsored by Dutch companies for the last two seasons.
Albers is not the only Dutchman to have driven a Minardi this winter – with ex-Formula One driver Jos Verstappen, veteran sportscar racer Patrick Huisman and Formula 3000 competitor Jeffrey van Hooydonk all trying out cars recently.
