Bernie Ecclestone’s future control of Formula One racing was thrown into doubt today when the UK's High Court ruled against him in a boardroom power struggle.

A judge held that Mr Ecclestone, aged 73, who has ruled Formula One for more than 20 years, had “no defence” to a claim brought by three creditor banks over the make-up of the board of parent company Formula One Holdings (FOH).
