Pinsent lays down oars

Matthew Pinsent today called time on a glorious rowing career by announcing his retirement from the sport.

The 34-year-old claimed his fourth Olympic gold medal in the summer as Great Britain’s coxless fours narrowly held off a strong Canadian challenge in Athens.
