Hann to fight sex assault charges
Quinten Hann is preparing to fight sexual assault charges tooth and nail, his lawyer said after a brief court hearing today.
The 27-year-old Australian appeared at Ealing Magistrates Court in west London facing two charges under the Sexual Offences Act and two charges of actual bodily harm.
Defence solicitor Dominic D’Souza said Hann will “vigorously” deny the allegations in a statement he read outside the court.
He said: “Mr Hann denies the allegations made by the two alleged victims in the case and will be contesting them vigorously at the trial.”
Mr D’Souza added Hann, of Uxbridge Road, Ealing, west London, was “saddened” when he heard that one of the alleged victims had cashed in on her story by selling it to a tabloid newspaper.
“Mr Hann was saddened to discover that one of the alleged victims has already sold her story to one of the tabloid newspapers and received a considerable amount of money as a result,” he continued in his statement outside the court.
The alleged offences are said to have taken place on August 29 in Uxbridge Road.
Hann appeared at court today dressed in an olive-green duffle coat, white T-shirt and blue jeans.
The case was adjourned until October 20 for counsel to read through some new documents handed to them today. Hann was remanded on conditional bail.
