Dubliner Michael Judge will play Marco Fu in the third round of the Totesport Grand Prix in Preston today.
Judge edged passed Marcus Campbell of Scotland 5-4 last night. He is confident his form has improved markedly this season, and he can point to a first-round victory over former world champion Mark Williams as evidence of that.
“That was a huge boost to my confidence and gave me extra inner belief,” he explained after defeating Campbell from 4-3 down.
“It’s happened to me before in the past where I’ve beaten a good player and then lost my next match.”
Campbell, responsible for the last-64 exit of Quinten Hann, led on four occasions and made breaks of 81, 55 and 58. However, Judge levelled at 4-4 with a run of 76 and then finished off with a decisive 52.
