Ireland ladies ease to Luxembourg victory
Ireland completely dominated last night's European Championship match against Luxembourg, and comprehensiveky beat them 90-49.
The first quarter ended with Ireland in a clear lead, up 23 - 13. The second quarter continued with the Irish playing a good passing game, and the intensity of their defence forced Luxembourg to shot from outside - with little success.
Ireland were ahead going into the half-time break by 51 points to 29.
The third quarter was a scrappy affair, both teams finding it difficult to find their rhythm but Ireland were always in control, and the quarter ended 67-41.
In the final quarter, Ireland's lead gave Head Coach Ger Tarrant the opportunity to run the bench, and the result was never in doubt.
He Irish closed the game out to win 90-49, and while Susan Moran once again ended top scorer with 18 points,
Ireland now lie second in the group behind Sweden going into the second phase of matches next year, and have given themselves every opportunity to progress.
