Panis takes step back

Frenchman Olivier Panis has announced his retirement from racing in Formula One, although he will continue as a test driver with Toyota.

Panis, whose only grand prix win came in Monaco in 1996, has agreed a two-year contract with current team Toyota to act as their third driver next season, allowing him to practice on the Friday of a race weekend.
