K1 dreams dashed for Rheinisch

Leixlip paddler Eoin Rheinisch managed a disappointing 21st in this morning's first K1 Kayak run, and failed to better his position in the second as his maiden Olympic Games came to an abrupt end at the Helliniko centre.

Just as Galway's Eadaoin Ni Challarain finished one place outside of the K1 women's final yesterday, so too did Rheinisch, although this time it was semi-final qualification, and a disappointing finish of 21st out of 25 competitors.
