Li claims first gold of Games

Du Li of China won the first gold medal of the 2004 Olympics this morning, claiming first place in the women’s 10-metre air rifle competition.

Li fired a new Olympic record score of 502.0 from her 10 shots in the final of the competition, held at the Markopoulo shooting centre.
