Jordan's Glock scores on debut
Jordan’s third driver Timo Glock described his Formula One debut as “perfect” after picking up two points at the Canadian Grand Prix following the disqualification of both Williams and Toyota.
The 22-year-old was sitting in for Giorgio Pantano, who missed the race due to personal circumstances, and the German was promoted to finishing seventh after the exclusion of Ralf Schumacher, Juan Pablo Montoya, Cristiano Da Matta and Olivier Panis.
Team-mate and compatriot Nick Heidfeld also picked up a point after finishing just behind Glock in eighth.
“What an unbelievable development,” Glock told www.f1jordan.com, “I can’t explain how it feels to find out I scored two points in my first ever F1 race. Perfect.
“It’s great for the team, they have been doing a really good job.”
Heidfeld added: “I am really happy for the team. We have been making steady progress so it’s great to be rewarded with championship points.
“I’m happy for Timo, scoring points in his first race and just a little frustrated because I think I could have scored even more!
“Anyway, it’s a great result in the end and a good boost for everybody.”
The result sees Jordan go seventh in the constructors’ championship ahead of Toyota and Jaguar.
