Legal boost to Thorpe's Olympic dream

Legal advice has cleared Ian Thorpe to defend his 400 metres freestyle Olympic title in Athens should Craig Stevens decide to withdraw from the event.

Stevens qualified for the 400m alongside Grant Hackett at the recent Australian national championships after Thorpe was sensationally disqualified in the heats for a false start.
