Thomas boosts his Olympic hopes
Iwan Thomas’ bid to book an Olympic place was boosted by a victory over training partner Chris Rawlinson in the 400 metres hurdles at the annual Meet of Champions in California.
Thomas, the former European and Commonwealth 400m champion, clocked 46.52 seconds in beating Rawlinson, who was a tenth of a second behind.
Donna Fraser, fourth for Britain in the 400m at the Sydney Olympics in 2000,
continued her rehabilitation from a three-year injury nightmare by winning the 100m in 11.81secs.
