Neptune have lost again this time to Shamrock Rovers who were playing their last home game of the season.
The Hoops were looking to impress the home support and they signed Mike Trimmer early on Friday after the Wayne Houston walked out on the club.
Trimmer came up with some great rebounds down the stretch and Jenkins and Marcario hit some big three’s to seal the win in the fourth quarter.
Neptune, with only two league wins since November, have seen their chances of even a playoff spot slipping away.
They are now level with Glenagle Lakers on 18 points but the Lakers have a game in hand.
Lakers need to win their last two games to secure the last spot in the playoffs, or win one if Neptune lose their last game.
They will know their fate after Wednesday’s local derby against Tralee.
Dart Killester went down to Glenagle Lakers 99-80. Even though Tyrone Levets was carrying an injury he managed to lead his team on 28pts.
Killester won the northern conference on Wednesday night and their play off spot is secure.
UCD Marian held on to win against southern conference holders Horans Healthstore Tigers 98-89 in Marian’s last game of the regular season.
That holds them in second place but MDS Star have another game to play and must win in order to clinch second and hold home court advantage in the playoffs.
MDS Star returned to winning ways against a resurgent Burgerking Limerick 112-96 with Pat Campolieta and Jo Jo Chambers hitting 29 points a-piece.
Mardyke UCC Demons played St Vincents in their last home game of the regular season but they failed to impress, losing 89-81.
Jermaine Turner hit 27 points for St Vincents.
This brings Demons back into the fight to hold onto home court advantage for the playoffs.
