Ireland tour ends in whitewash
Ireland women’s tour to the USA ended in a three-match whitewash after a 2-0 defeat at Stanford University in California.
Kate Barber (19) and Tracey Fuchs (30) scored penalty corners to make it five wins in a row for the hosts following two successes in exhibition games before the Test series.
The Irish squad will return home later today with coach Riet Kuper expected to name her final squad of 18 for March’s Olympic qualifying tournament in Auckland tomorrow.
Those selected will then embark on a three-week training camp in Argentina and Spain with international matches against both host teams plus Holland and Korea.
