McGarry makes impressive start in World Championship

Northern Ireland’s Colin McGarry made an instant impression on his first visit to the Ladbrokes.com World Championship with a convincing win over Rory Orvis today.

McGarry beat the Canadian national champion 3-0 in their first round encounter at the Circus Tavern in Purfleet.

Welshman Wayne Atwood also made progress with 3-0 whitewash of Japanese number one Toru Sano.

Ritchie “Uncle Fester” Buckle got the tournament under way with a 3-1 win over Dutchman Jan van der Rassel and American Dan Lauby lost 3-0 to Belgian Erik Clarys.
