Alex Arthur wants title or else
Former British super-featherweight champion Alex Arthur has warned he may quit the ring if he does not win a world title next year.
The Edinburgh fighter lost his British crown to Michael Gomez in October.
The 25-year-old admits retirement may follow unless he adopts the example of fellow Scot, Scott Harrison, and wins a world title.
Arthur told the Scottish Daily Mirror: “I want to become a world champion in 2004.
“I have never had a goal in boxing I didn’t achieve, and this is not the time to start.
“If I don’t win a world title next year then I will seriously consider chucking it.
“I know for a fact I have the ability. All I need to do now is use my head.”
