Swimming: Van Almsick cancels Dublin appearance

German great Francesca van Almsick is the latest big-name to skip this week's European Short-Course Swimming Championships in Dublin.

With most other global stars sticking to Olympic winter training, the Netherlands' Pieter van den Hoogenband is the only household name competing.
