Jaguar announce new car for January
Jaguar have put speculation surrounding number one driver Mark Webber to the back of their minds by announcing they will unveil their 2004 car in January.
The Milton Keynes-based team will reveal the new Cosworth-powered R5 machine in Barcelona on January 18.
Webber has been linked to Williams in 2005 after the announcement that Juan Pablo Montoya is leaving for McLaren, although the Australian has played down the suggestion.
Webber is expected to be on hand to unveil Jaguar’s new car. But his team-mate for 2004 is yet to be decided, with Sheffield’s Justin Wilson fighting for the seat along with Alexander Wurz and Jos Verstappen.
Meanwhile, Sauber have also announced the date for their new car launch – the C23 set to be unveiled in Salzburg on January 12.
It will be driven by Giancarlo Fisichella and Felipe Massa.
