The sons of two three-time Formula One world champions will move a step closer to grand prix racing next month.

The sons of two three-time Formula One world champions will move a step closer to grand prix racing next month.

Matthias Lauda, the son of Austrian former McLaren and Ferrari great Niki, has impressed in the Nissan Light Series will test for International Formula 3000 front-runners Arden at Imola in November.

Nelson Piquet junior, whose father Nelson won three world title in the 1980s for Brabham and Williams, will test for the same team at Jerez having enjoyed a successful first season in the British Formula Three Championship.

Arden boss Christian Horner said: “We are looking forward to working with both Matthias and Nelson junior who have both shown considerable ability in their respective championships.”
