Baumgartner fills in for Firman again

Hungary’s Zsolt Baumgartner will replace Ralph Firman for Jordan-Ford at this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix at Monza.

Baumgartner, who made his debut deputising for Firman at the last race in Budapest, was called in after the British rookie was ordered not to compete yesterday.

The 28-year-old Norwich-born racer is suffering from vertigo caused by his 150mph shunt during practice at the Hungaroring although he expects to be back in the cockpit at the next race in the United States.

Baumgartner was scheduled to take part in this morning’s private test session anyway but has been promoted to the race seat alongside Giancarlo Fisichella.
