Disappointment for Sonia in 1,500m

Sonia O'Sullivan has finished a disappointing 15th in the final of the 1,500m at the World Championship in Paris this evening.

O'Sullivan, who looked to be coming back to form in her semi-final, could not keep pace and finished over 40 seconds behind the leader.

The race was won by Ethiopia's Tirunesh Dibaba, who finished in a time of 14:51.72.

Spain's Marta Domínguez was second, with Edith Masai of Kenya third.

O'Sullivan came in 15th, in a time of 15:36.62.
