Brizzel misses out on 200m semi-finals

Ireland's Paul Brizzel has failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the men's 200m event at the World Athletics Championships in Paris.

Brizzel could only manage fifth place in his heat yesterday evening, but finished in a season's best time of 20.56secs.

The top three finishers qualified for the semi-final and the Irishman was only three hundredths of a second outside the time needed to progress in the competition.
