O'Sullivan takes silver in Paris

Ireland’s Gillian O’Sullivan has taken silver in the World Championships in Paris for the 20km walk.

The Farranfore native took second in a time of 1:27:33, despite picking up a warning card on the way.

Atlanta Olympic champion Yelena Nikolayeva, from Russia, took gold in a time of 1:26:52.

Valentina Tsybulskaya of Belarus was third in a time of 1:28:10.
