Perez wins gold in 20km walk

Jefferson Perez of Ecuador has won the gold medal in the men's 20 kilometre walk, in a world record time of one hour 17 minutes and 21 seconds at the World Athletics Championships in Paris.

The silver medal was won by Francisco Fernandez of Spain, in 1:18.00 and Roman Rasskazov of Russia took the bronze in 1:18:07.
