Racing big guns back British GP

Jackie Stewart and Martin Brundle insist the British Grand Prix will become one of the best on the Formula One calendar – providing Bernie Ecclestone stops his “predictable annual criticism”.

The pair were forced to issue a joint statement yesterday after Formula One supremo Ecclestone accused Silverstone’s owners of wasting a recent £45m (€65m) investment into the “embarrassing” Northamptonshire track.
