The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, is due to meet organisers of the Special Olympics today to discuss the potential threat of severe acute respiratory syndrome.

The meeting follows a decision by Clonmel Town Council in Co Tipperary to state that it did not want to host the Hong Kong team because of the SARS outbreak in the Asian nation.
