Triumph trio in TT

Triumph are to run a three-man team in the Isle of Man TT races and the North West 200 in Northern Ireland.

Jim Moodie, who already contests the British Supersport Championship for the Triumph ValMoto team, will be joined by John McGuinness and Bruce Anstey as they bid to win the 600cc Production and Junior (Supersport) classes on Triumph Daytona 600s at the TT.

The team’s managing director Jack Valentine has guided riders to 15 victories on the Isle of Man.

“I believe that we’ll have the strongest team out there,” said Valentine.

“We’re really looking forward to racing. Jim (Moodie) won the Junior race just last year for my team and John and Bruce are also proven winners.

“We’ve got an excellent chance in both races and we’re all looking forward to achieving some success for a British manufacturer at the TT.”

Triumph product and racing manager Ross Clifford is confident the team will be successful.

“Triumph is really looking forward to the TT,” said Clifford.

“We’ve had a lot of success there in the past but it’s been quite some time since we entered a full factory challenge.

“The Triumph ValMoto Daytona 600 is rapidly becoming a world-class race bike that will be perfectly suited to the Junior TT, while the strengths of the road bike are sure to be highlighted in the Production 600 class.

“Jack [Valentine] is one of the most respected and successful team managers at the TT so, with riders of the calibre that we have signed, and ValMoto at the helm we are anticipating some good results.”

Practice for the TT begins on May 24 but the team will first head for the North West 200’s two supersport races on May 10.
