Radcliffe looks forward to Paris

Paula Radcliffe might today be starting three weeks of “just doing nothing” after her epic London Marathon victory – but already she is eyeing the World Championships in August.

After her world record breaking run around the streets of the capital on Sunday, Radcliffe has earned her break.

But when that is over she will turn her attentions to winning the 10,000m gold medal in Paris this August.

Radcliffe has always wanted to win a global track title – the nearest she came was four years ago when she took the silver medal in the World Championships 10,000m.

However, she needs no reminding how tough the competition she faces in the Stade de France will be.

Ethiopian Derartu Tulu – who preceded Radcliffe as London champion – may have finished only 10th on Sunday but is red-hot on the track.

Tulu – twice Olympic 10,000m champion – will defend her gold medal in the French capital and said: “I’ll just have to try and stick with her, whatever speed she goes off.”
