Swail crashes out of European Open

Ireland's Joe Swail has crashed out of the European Open in Torquay after losing his second-round match against Peter Ebdon last night. Swail took the opening frame, but Ebdon controlled the match and sealed a 5-2 win with a break of 76 in the seventh frame.

Elsewhere last night, Stephen Lee booked a place in the quarter-finals with a 5-3 win over Quinten Hann, while Mark King also beat Matthew Stevens 5-3, clinching the match with a fluked back in the eighth fame.

Ronnie O'Sullivan, meanwhile, notched up three century breaks on the way to beating Dave Finbow 5-3 - a 121 in the first, a 129 in the fifth and 102 to clinch the match.
