Campbell comes out on top
Darren Campbell edged out Mark Lewis-Francis by one hundredth of a second in the 60m final at the Irish Indoor Athletics Championships in Belfast.
Lewis-Francis had set an Irish all-comers record of 6.58 seconds in the heats but then had to settle for silver as Campbell blasted home in 6.84 with bronze going to Ireland’s Mark Howard in 6.82.
Gillian O’Sullivan set a new world indoor record for the 3km walk with a time of 11:35.33.
