Firman to be confirmed as Jordan replacement

Eddie Jordan is expected to announce Ralph Firman as Takumo Sato's replacement at Formula One team Jordan this morning.

The British driver will partner Giancharlo Fisichella after pipping former Sauber driver Felippe Masse for the seat.

Executive editor of F1 Racing magazine Anthony Rowlinson says Firman has got a tough learning curve ahead of him.

"What he will find difficult is driving in a race situation in a Formula One car and also with the new qualifying regulations that we have for the next season that will put a premium on experience having run in a Formula One qualifying session before, which Ralph hasn't."
