Doherty fails at Welsh quarter-finals

Ken Doherty is out of the Regal Welsh Open in Cardiff.

The Dubliner was beaten 5 frames to 2 by the defending champion Paul Hunter at the quarter-final stage this morning.

Hunter now plays the winner of this afternoon's other match between Robin Hull and Mark Williams, the only Welshman left in the tournament.
