Doherty beats Swail at Welsh Open
Ken Doherty has progressed to the third round of the Regal Welsh Open in Cardiff after beating fellow Irishman Joe Swail 5-4 today.
Swail led the tie 3-1 at the mid-session interval, but Doherty won the next three frames in a row to turn the tables and lead 4-3.
Swail levelled the game in the eighth frame to force a decider, but Doherty emerged victorious thanks to a break of 51.
He now goes on to face either Leo Fernandez or defending champion Paul Hunter, who meet in the second round this afternoon.
