Ireland have succumbed to their worst defeat of the women's Hockey World Cup.

They went down to South Africa 6-0 for their seventh consecutive defeat.

Pietie Coetzee scored three for the South Africans, while Jenny Wilson scored two and Johke Koornhof chipped in with one.

The Irish now play the Ukraine in the first of two play-off matches on Friday.
