Parrot through to third round

Former world champion John Parrott advanced to the third round of the British Open in Telford today by beating Joe Perry 5-1.

Parrott, 38, made only two half-century breaks but employed a better tactical approach to set up a last-16 clash with old foe Stephen Hendry or Ali Carter.
