World C'ship gets increased pot

Next year’s PDC World Championship will have an increased prize fund and a new sponsor the Professional Darts Corporation announced today.

Bookmaker Ladbrokes is to sponsor the 2003 World Championship from this December 27 to January 7 at its regular venue, the Circus Tavern, Purfleet, in Essex.

The Ladbrokes.com PDC World Championship will also have a total prize fund of €369,000 with the winner walking away a cheque for €78,000, with the bookmakers having already installed world number one Phil Taylor as 1/4 favourite to win the tournament.
