Big win for Scruffy's St. Pauls

This game could have gone either way with Scruffy's St Pauls and University of Limerick playing some great basketball in the ESB women's superleague.

In the first 3 quarters of the game both teams went basket for basket.

In the fourth quarter UL went ahead by 7 but St. Pauls leveled again with a three point basket from Muirissa Galway and two baskets from Diane Griffin and then Diane Griffin with 10 seconds on the clock scored the winning basket and was fouled but failed to make the free throw.

A crucial time out for UL was called but they failed to reply in the last ten seconds.

On the night it seemed Scruffy's St. Pauls had the edge over a strong UL team with three of their most vital players being fouled out in the last quarter, Michelle Aspell, Niamh Mullaly, Sinead Leahy.
