Tolka hand UCD Marian first defeat

Tolka have beaten UCD Marian, handing them their first defeat of the season.

Tolka started the game very well and took a 16-2 lead with 4 minutes gone in the 1st quarter with Joey Haastrup scoring 14pts in the quarter.

Jermaine Turner kept UCD Marian in touch with 12pts to end the quarter 24-18 down.

A Lively start to the 2nd quarter by UCD Marian got them 30-28 in front.

Tolka then steadied the ship to score 10 unanswered points to finish the half 45-36 ahead.

Tolka took advantage of UCD Marian poor play and with 2 minutes of the 3rd quarter left they were 28pts up .

UCD Marian rallied to go into the 4th quarter 70-51 down.

UCD Marian had the better start to the final quarter and got the lead down to 6pts but a superb quarter from Kenny McFarland and steady free throws from Mark Walsh secured the win for Tolka.
