Dunne recruited by SRL Boxing

Irish featherweight Bernard Dunne has been confirmed as the latest recruit to the promotional firm Sugar Ray Leonard Boxing.

The 22-year-old Dubliner, who has won 11 amateur national titles, will contest his first bout under the new contract in Buffalo on October 18.

Dunne fought on SRL Boxing's nationally televised card on August 2 and earned high praise from Sugar Ray himself.

"When Ben fought on our card in August, my partner Bjorn Rebney and I looked at each other in amazement," he said.

"We knew right then that this young man had tremendous skills and the potential to really be something special."
