Greene crashes out of LG Cup

Ireland's Gerard Greene is out of the LG Cup in Britain after losing his quarter-final encounter with Jimmy Michie this afternoon.

Greene led 4-1 at one stage, but Michie claimed the next four frames in a row to deny the Irishman a place in the semi-finals in Preston on a 5-4 scoreline.

Breaks of 66 and 98 left Greene sitting in his chair and when he did get a chance in the final frame, he should have won the match.

However, with the pink over the pocket, his nerves got the better of him and Michie completed his remarkable comeback.
