Greene beats Dott at LG Cup

Ireland’s Gerard Greene has booked a place in the last 16 of the LG Cup in Preston.

The 33-year-old beat Graeme Dott 5-1 in their second-round encounter this afternoon.

Greene led 4-0 after the first session and secured victory in the sixth frame following Dott’s short-lived comeback after the interval.

Elsewhere, former world champion John Higgins beat Anthony Davies 5-0 to also book a place in the last 16.
