England lead inter nations karting challenge

The English team head the points table in the Fathom Inter Nation Challenge at Kartworld, Watergrasshill.

After six categories in all six categories, they have a total of 1328 point with Scotland in second place on 1278 points. Ireland are third with 1140 points followed by Wales (1060) and Northern Ireland (1040).

The points double on today’s Pre-Finals and finals.

Of the Irish, the Pro-Karts, 100 Libre and Formula 125 teams all finished second in the four heats.

In the British Formula 3 championship at Thruxton, Cork driver, Michael Keohane will begin today’s first race from the third row of the grid and the second race from the tenth row.

Eamonn Boland has a strong advantage in the Dick Bailey Rally in Wexford. He leads the Escort of Steve Hendy by one minute and 24 seconds. Boland is set to equal Stephen Murphy’s record of five wins.

Bob Fowden in third, driving a Mitsubishi, also leads Group N. John Price (Metro) is fourth.
