Button retires from race

Britain's Jensen Button has retired from the Belgian Grand Prix.

Schumacher was lapping around two seconds quicker than all of his rivals apart from Barrichello as he built-up a lead over the Brazilian of more than seven seconds by the end of lap 10.

Montoya at that time was nearly 20 seconds adrift of Schumacher with Raikkonen fourth and David Coulthard fifth in the other McLaren.

Jenson Button’s afternoon came to an end soon afterwards as he pulled his Renault off the track joining Minardi’s Mark Webber on the retirement list.
