Stewart's assurance over Jaguar future
Jaguar Racing's Sir Jackie Stewart has insisted the Formula One team is not threatened by a claimed link between parent company Ford and the Jordan team.
Jordan's owner Eddie Jordan has claimed an engine deal with Ford will start from next season, leaving Ford's link with Jaguar in question.
But Stewart has given an assurance that the Jaguar team is not under threat and also denied a possible buy-out of the team by soft drinks firm Red Bull.
"That is absolutely wrong, there is no truth in that all," he told Radio Five Live when asked about the rumoured Red Bull buy-out.
Stewart also denied that the future of Jaguar was in doubt by the reported link between Ford's engine manufacturing arm Cosworth and the Jordan team.
He claimed all sponsors would be kept informed of any developments.
"Be sure everyone knows which direction they are travelling. I do not think there is a big issue there," added Stewart.
Drinks company Red Bull have also been linked with a possible purchase of the troubled Arrows team.
