Malcolm motors into 200 metres final

Christian Malcolm shrugged off a false start to clinch a place in the final of the European Championships 200 metres in Munich.

Malcolm clocked 20.54 seconds when finishing third in the opening semi-final in the Olympic Stadium.

Poland's Marcin Jerdrusinski came through to win in 20.46secs from Portugal's Nigerian-born Francis Obikwelu, silver medallist in the 100m behind Dwain Chambers, who finished in 20.48 despite easing up.
