Fisichella ready for German GP

Jordan driver Giancarlo Fisichella has been given the all-clear to race in the German Grand Prix following his horror smash just five days ago.

Fisichella missed the French Grand Prix at Magny Cours after his Jordan-Honda slammed into a tyre barrier during final practice.

The 29-year-old was taken by stretcher to a waiting ambulance before then being air-lifted to a local hospital where he underwent a routine check up.

Fisichella suffered nothing more than a headache and a sore neck, but was advised by Formula One's chief medical officer Professor Sid Watkins not to take part in the race due to the considerable deceleration he experienced in the accident.

He was immediately sent home and ordered to rest before undergoing another medical with Professor Watkins at Hockenheim.

The German Grand Prix is a vital one for Jordan as Deutsche Post are one of their principal sponsors, but following the latest check-over a team spokesperson confirmed: "Giancarlo is fit to take part in this weekend's race."
